The cottage home is secured with a keypad that requires a code for entry and exit. Special considerations/accommodations are to ensure that potential hazardous items are not accessible to the residents.

What is the process for assessing a resident's needs and creating a personalized care plan?

Residents are assessed at admission, quarterly and/or with any significant change in status.

How often are family members updated on their loved one's well-being and care?

Care plan meetings are held on admission, every quarter or with a significant change in status. However, there are always open lines of communication between the staff and families, and we know that family caregivers are a vital part of our care team.

What steps are taken to create a familiar and comforting environment for residents with memory issues?

The Cottage home is designed to look and feel just like your own home, with an open floor plan, access to common living space, a full kitchen, laundry room and spa it creates a sense of familiarity and comfort.

Considerations are made to enhance wayfinding, create purposeful spaces, enhance sensory experiences, artwork and color are used to create calm.

Is transportation provided for medical appointments or other outings?

The community does not provide transportation for medical appointments but has medical professionals that come to the community for certain specialties.
